Happy Birthday My Dear Madelyn

Today we sang Happy Birthday (all day long) to the sweetest little girl I know.
We watched as she exuberantly blew out the four candles that  adorned her cake.
Our hearts pounded with gratitude for the gift of her life.
Today we celebrated ALL of who she is.

 A blanket of pure joy...

An innocent beauty...

An answer to whispered prayers...

All wrapped up in this one precious girl...

There simply are no words.
How can one fully explain a love like this?
Well, one can't
Words fail.
It's simply felt with the heart.
If you've met her then you know.

So on this day, as my baby girl turned four, we showered her with love and pretties and kisses and sweet treats...
All the while realizing that she is the gift!

Such a character...

Last Saturday Nana and I took the kids to a
story book character meet and greet.

A crew of local teenagers dressed up as various story book characters and read stories and posed for pictures with the littles who attended.

I was bored to tears but both of my children were thrilled to be there and wanted photos with all of their favorites.

Ariel, one of Madelyn's favorites!
 Cindrella
 Tianna
Pinkalicious from one of our favorite books!

 Spidey

 Princess Jasmine
 Tinkerbell
Pete the Cat, another book fave
and Cat in the Hat
 Jesse from Toy Story
 Snow White
 Ariel, again
Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Cat in the Hat
Belle, from Beauty and the Beast
 Captain Underpants...
ya, I know, there are no words...
This girl was in! her! glory!
 Dorothy, Wizard of Oz
 and of course Rapunzel.

What is lame to one is the bee's knee's to another!
