Poof

Just like that another year is gone!

Collin got a new spider man clock for Christmas and was wondering why the minute hand "keeps moving".  I explained that it moves because time is moving and ticking away.  I didn't expect a response from him, figuring he would have no idea what I was talking about.
I should have known better than to expect that I would have the last word.

He didn't miss a beat, he quickly exclaimed with gusto~
"WELL it's wasting all my batteries!"

If only it were that simple, I thought to myself.
If we could just buy more time with the simple change of a battery.
And yet time ticks away, often to quickly for my taste.

I have most recently felt a bit panicked at the pace at which my children are growing.  I know they are still young and yet they seem so big.  Saddens me to think about how quickly the years just seem pass.  I look at photographs captured when my babies were small enough to be curled comfortably in my arms and I can't help but get a little lump in my throat.  I hear their sweet tiny voices tucked away in home video and my heart is blanketed in the warmth of days past.  I daily realize how very blessed I am to have been chosen to mother these treasured blessings.  Sometimes the days seem long but the years sure are short.  If only I could figure a way to slow the hands of time~

And yet I have to remind myself to be totally present today, enjoying and savoring each moment with my most treasured miracles.  It's inevitable that time will indeed pass, but there's really no sense wasting today worrying about how quickly tomorrow will come...

Can I get an Amen?

Happy new year~

Christmas day 3

Our Christmas celebrations didn't end on Sunday!
On Monday night we went to Nana's to celebrate with his side of the family.  The kids enjoyed their aunts and uncles and we all enjoyed one another's company~
Uncle Todd and Aunt Lisa were so generous with their gifts~

Madelyn first opened the batteries that went with her toy.
Sweet thing smiled big and pretended to be excited.
It was hilarious and precious all at once!

 Brothers~
I teased Ryan about sitting on his "throne" while everyone gathered around him.  Todd loving called it "the handicapped chair".  I don't know how Jeanette raised these three goofs and not only came out in one piece, but is still smiling!

Wonderful night with family.
Love to all~

Happy Birthday Jesus!!

Happy birthday to you.
Happy birthday to you.
Happy birthday sweet Jesus.
Happy birthday to YOU!

Sweet little morning face.

A bit of the aftermath.
And yes what's Christmas day without watching a little Ralphie (see TV in background).  "You'll shoot your eye out kid"~

Off to Grammy's for Christmas dinner~
which was divine I might add!  :)

Grammy had these two sweet gifts waiting under the tree for after dinner.  Our Jannie, she is just simply the best!

Both kids asked immediately "can I play with now"
you know it's a winner when it's promptly busted into.

Thank you Jannie and Uncle Dave.
We are always so touched by your kindness and thoughtfulness.
We sure do miss you!  ;)

What a blessed Christmas we all had!
Happy birthday Jesus~
It's all about you.

Mom and Dad surprised us all with new HD video cameras.
Ryan actually got teary he was so surprised.  I literally have never seen him teary over a gift!!  BELL RINGER!!  :)
Actually there were bell ringers all around!

Next stop Gabby's for the eve dinner!
Sadly I hardly took any pictures because I was too busy enjoying the fantab company~

It was most certainly a day filled with laughs, hugs, and giving with the ones we love the most.  Back tomorrow for Christmas~
